Lisa Morrell Dawson, LPC

Infant, Children, and Whole Family Therapist

Lisa Morrell Dawson believes the therapeutic relationship, built on trust and empathy, is the key for healing for most. As a trauma-informed therapist, she knows words are not always possible and that inner strength comes from being able to share and express thoughts and feelings in many ways – whether through play, creative expression (such as music or art), sandtray, or physical activity such as yoga or sensory experiences.

Upon completing her master’s degree in early childhood education from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS, Lisa enjoyed working several years as a preschool teacher. Lisa discovered the field of counseling while working as a case manager in Kansas and returned to school to receive her master’s in counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. The blending of the two fields gives Lisa the opportunity to integrate the development of the whole child into her practice. While Lisa specializes in play therapy, she works with individuals and families of all ages, from birth to adult.

She also has experience working with the LGBTQ community.

She has a wide range of specialties and therapeutic modalities which are but are not limited to:
