Sexual Addiction: Trauma and Treatment

The impact of sexual addiction and the use of Internet pornography have profoundly impacted western culture and the church. Richard Blankenship, Dr. Barbara Steffens, Dr. William Struthers, and other national leaders point out the growing numbers of people becoming addicted to Internet pornography. The Internet has changed the impact of pornography on people. Men, women, and children are all being affected by living in a sexually saturated culture. This seminar is designed to provide resources for professional counselors, marriage & family therapists, clinical social workers and pastors who work with people struggling with problematic sexual behavior, their partners/spouses, and families. Treating core addictions such as sex, food, and others has features that are different from drugs, alcohol, and other chemical addictions. It is important that clinicians understand these differences and be equipped to address these issues in treatment. The mission of Cornerstone Training is to provide training and resources for the professional community for treating problematic sexual behavior and the families affected from a trauma model perspective.
